Just In: Perennial White Impala

We don't often get the opportunity to tell you folks about a beer just as it arrives, but indeed, as I type these words, a fresh load of beer from Perennial is being checked into our system. As usual, it's got a bunch of great beer on it, including, for the first time, steel kegs. But we know it's not the packaging you're excited about, it's the stuff inside! In addition to freshly-packaged Saison de Lis, Hommel Bier, and Blonde, we've also just received Perennial's newest limited release, a draft-only beer called White Impala.

White Impala is a wheat IPA, hazy and crushable at just 6% ABV. It's juicy and bright, dry-hopped generously with Mosaic, Huell Melon, and Mandarina Bavaria hops. Expect explosive aromas of citrus, melon, and tropical fruit salad atop a smooth, malty base with just the right amount of bitterness. You're sure to love it!

Now available in 1/6 & 1/2 barrel steel kegs.

Also available from Perennial:

Blonde 30L PETainer, 1/6bbl
Glitter & Gold 12x750
Hommel Bier 1/6bbl
Meriwether Saison 12x750
Saison de Lis 12x750, 1/6bbl
Von Pampelmuse 12x750
Introducing: Ciders of Spain

Introducing: Ciders of Spain

Spanish cider is unlike any other beverage in the world. The ciders of Basque Country and Asturias are beguiling, complex, and well-loved around the world. In their home regions, the ciders are seen as a part of daily life, inextricably woven into the culture of these special places.

The folks at Ciders of Spain hope to share some of that culture with the American drinking public by bringing us ciders that reflect the passion and skill of Spanish cidermakers. They are fascinating beverages, expressive of terroir and a mastery of fermentation. We're proud to be working with the Ciders of Spain portfolio for the first time. Their first shipment brings us a wide selection of some of the best Spain has to offer. Check it out!

Now Available:

Fanjul Sidra Natural
Fanjul Sidra Natural is made entirely from sour Asturian apples, which boast a powerful acidity and tannic structure along with complex, tropical aromatics. This is a still beverage that shines with food--think cured meats and rich cheeses.
Now available in 700ml bottles.

Guzman Riestra Sidra Brut Nature
While most Spanish ciders are served still from 700ml bottles, Guzman Riestra Sidra Brut Nature is a bit different. It's treated with the famed Champagne method of carbonation and clarification, and it's packaged in elegant 750ml sparkling wine bottles. It's a bit cleaner in fermentation character than what you might expect from an Asturian cider and is at its most satisfying alongside a plate of raw oysters.

Guzman Sidra Natural Riestra
From the same producer comes this more "traditional" Asturian cider--it's still and wild, with bold acidity and a rustic appearance. Made with Spanish and French cider apple varieties for a huge aroma and layered character.
Now available in 700ml bottles.

Sidra Avalon
Sidra Avalon is an approachable introduction to Spanish cider, with earthy aromatics and just a touch of perceptible sweetness. A balanced, drinkable Spanish cider with a boatload of character.
Now available in 330ml bottles.

Viuda de Angelon Sidra Brut
Another Spanish sparkler! This one is made entirely from earthy, matured cider, refermented in bottle to product a dry, festive drink with a fine, natural carbonation.
Now available in 750ml bottles.

Viuda de Angelon Sidra de Pera
Made entirely from pears and the yeast present on their skin and in their flesh, Sidra de Pera is a rich perry with vanilla aromatics and the slightest touch of residual sugar (1.5g/L). Made with the Charmat method to preserve the freshness of the delicate fruit aromatics.
Now available in 330ml bottles.

Viuda de Angelon Diamantes de Hielo Frost Cider
Lastly, we have the truly intriguing Diamantes de Hielo, Spain's answer to the ice ciders of Quebec. Made by fermenting ice-concentrated juice, the result is a dense, sweet, and bold drink with sherry-like qualities. Serve with dessert for a stunning end to any meal.
Now available in 375ml bottles.

Two Commons Classics, Now in Stock

The Commons Brewery makes great beer with a clear voice, effortlessly blending new world concepts with old-school sensibilities. They make beers that reflect their own passions and it shows--their beers are fresh and exciting, but with a classic air about them. The brewery is known for their consistently excellent saisons and farmhouse table beers, but their skills go way beyond that.

We've just received new batches of two of our favorites from this Portland brewery that exemplify their unique style and skill beyond the farmhouse ale. Check 'em out!

Now Available:

Bourbon Little Brother
Little Brother is a cool-fermented strong ale with a touch of roasty character and a lot of smooth richness. Here, it's been given the barrel-aged treatment, resting for a few months in Heaven Hill bourbon barrels. The result is a dense and complex (but not over-the-top) chocolatey, malty delight.
Now available in 750ml bottles.

Flemish Kiss
Flemish Kiss is back! One of our all-time favorite beers from the Commons has returned. It's a brilliant Belgian-style pale ale fermented with Brettanomyces. It's floral and dry, with a touch of fruitiness and an earthy finishing bite.

Breaking Beer

Stop me if you’ve heard this before: a student and his high school teacher get together and start cooking. Breaking Bad, right?
Actually that’s the basic story of Danish brewery, To Øl. In 2005, Tobias Emil Jensen, Tore Gynther and their teacher, Mikkel Borg Bjergso (of Mikkeller fame) set out to lead a revolution in Danish beer, away from the lackluster beers they grew up with. Everything they do seems to push the envelope just a bit further (even their label art). Its been just over 10 radical years and the Lime Ventures team is loving every minute of it! Check out some of the new stuff we just got in stock!
Now Available:

Fuck Art This is Architecture
To Øl’s signature “Fuck Art” series is their take on classic Belgian beer styles. This is Architecture is a rustic example of a Belgian Pale Ale brewed with Brettanomyces. The Brett brings an earthy quality to the party while potent American hops bring the bitterness to support the pilsner malt and flaked oat backbone.

Garden of Eden
To Øl absolutely crammed this beer with fruit. Brewed with apricot, guava, mango, passion fruit, and papaya! Add some fruity Mosaic hops and you’ve got yourself a fruit bomb of an IPA with intense fruit aromas.

Now available in 330ml bottles.

No ReGratze
Very subtly smoky, No ReGratze is a tart and absolutely crushable take on the old Polish beer style known as Grodziskie (aka Grätzer). Very refreshing!
Now available in 330ml bottles.

Reparationsbajer (Director’s Cut)
This is a beast of an Imperial Pale Ale. Weighing in at a massive 17% ABV, this ultra-boiled pale ale has been primarily fermented with several different yeasts, but is finished with champagne yeast to get it up to that lofty ABV. Surprisingly dry, but with a hint of sweetness to keep the alcohol from being too in your face. This bad boy tastes great now but will cellar fantastically!
Now available in 330ml bottles.

Mikkeller's Spontan series has produced some of our all-time favorite beers, and their SpontanDryHop sub-series bears the name well. The Citra version is brilliant--perfectly balanced and loaded with all the complex aromatics of the namesake hop.
