Inspired by Italian bitters and sodas, the Detroit-based Casamara Club dreamt up a line of non alcoholic, sparkling botanical creations recently launched in California. Marketed as “Amaro soft drinks,” the Casamara Club lineup features a distinct bouquet of herbs and spices, such as juniper berry, allspice, sage, cardamom, and anise to name a few. Each varietal contains lemon juice, demerara cane sugar (or honey), and sea salt to bring the beverages into balance. The finish on each is welcomingly dry, with bitter notes front and center. Each of the Amaro soft drinks offers a unique botanical profile, while the low sugar makes them refreshing and crushable.
