Freddie Schönram is eighth generation to inherit the entire Schönram village with its brewery, Private Landbrauerei Schönramer. This brewery is all about “terroir,” the environmental conditions, especially soil and climate, in which malts and hops are grown and that give a beer its unique flavor and aroma. They use a single strain of barley malt called “Barke” grown exclusively for them by two local farming families. Their hops, as well, are grown by local farmers for their specific, full aroma.
