Crux Fermentation Project
In 2012 Larry Sidor came into his own in the Bend, Oregon brewing scene after leaving Deschutes Brewing and starting Crux Fermentation Project. Crux is a one-of-a-kind brewery, built for non-traditional brewing methods like decoction mashing, open fermentation and barrel aging, and for leveraging the limitless possibilities that wild yeast strains and experimental hops present. The name Crux celebrates the moment where tension and conflict meet. It’s that critical do or die moment where everything comes together— striking that perfect balance. Some people perform their best in these moments, and surely the moment inspires innovation and creativity to push through. Crux is not pursuing convention— they want to face the “crux of the matter” and push through to the other side. They have definitely been pushing through lately cranking out new one-off & limited release beers featuring flawless recipes, a non-alcoholic lineup and fresh can designs!
