Ever since Heater Allen opened their doors in 2007, beer became a major part of the conversation for the small Oregon city of McMinnville. Not only was owner Rick Allen creating beer in wine country, but the suds he was producing were rooted in German and Czech tradition, a trend that we’re only seeing come into focus some 11 years later with the craft lager boom.
